emeka ogboh, 1977 in enugu, nigeria, geboren, ist klang-, medien- und gastro-künstler. mit field recordings, musikalischen zitaten und eigenkompositionen verwandelt er konkrete urbane topographien und in ihnen eingebettete private wie kollektive erinnerungsräume zu eindrucksvollen, bisweilen „schmackhaften“ installationen, die themen wie migration und identität in der globalisierten welt adressieren. ogboh war u.a. auf der documenta 14 (2017) vertreten. nach einem stipendium des berliner künstlerprogramms des daad 2014 lebt er in lagos und berlin.
emeka ogboh, born in 1977 in enugu, nigeria, is a sound, media and gastro artist. using field recordings, musical quotations, and his own compositions, he transforms concrete urban topographies and private as well as collective memory spaces embedded in them into impressive, sometimes „palatable“ installations that address themes such as migration and identity in the globalized world. ogboh was represented at documenta 14 (2017), among others. after receiving a fellowship from the daad’s berlin artists‘ program in 2014, he lives in lagos and berlin.
